
Andrea Bailey, formerly Andrea Bailey Cox, is a nonprofit professional with over twenty years of experience building organizational capacity. Andrea combines passion and education in nonprofits with business acumen to effectively lead transformational initiatives. Andrea currently leads American Women Artists, an organization that has championed women artists for over 30 years. As Executive Director, Andrea works to bring women artists to the art world’s attention through museum shows, juried competitions in leading galleries around the country, symposiums, workshops, and international travel and exhibitions. Andrea oversees all aspects of the American Women Artists organization to increase the number of professional opportunities for women in the visual fine arts that lead to greater inclusion. During her seven years as Executive Director of the Aslan Foundation, Andrea led the Foundation’s grantmaking, public-private partnerships, and projects, including Loghaven Artist Residency, Eugenia Williams House, Candoro Marble Building, and High Ground Park. Andrea’s experience before her move to Knoxville in 2017 to work with the Aslan Foundation included leadership roles in cultural organizations in Orlando and Boston with a focus on physical and programmatic expansion. Her bachelor’s degree in art history and master’s degree in business illustrate Andrea’s interest in building sustainability and nurturing innovation within the nonprofit community.
